She struggle to breathe with her swollen belly while searching for her owner, asking for help!

While walking on the street, I saw her. A poor dog with a huge belly, wandering aimlessly. She followed every passerby, hoping for help. People shooed her away. Yet, she kept smiling. So friendly, despite the rejection. My heart broke seeing her. Tears streamed down my face. Could I just leave her there? Absolutely not. Her collar was tight around her neck. Was she abandoned after getting sick? It didn’t look like pregnancy. Her belly seemed swollen with ascites. It was urgent. We rushed to the vet hospital.

She is at the end stage of heartworm. Because of that, her belly is swollen, and it’s like she has no time left.

Even if the heartworm treatment goes well without causing shock, the fluid will repeatedly accumulate throughout her life. Each time, she will need fluid drainage procedures.

Both the heartworm treatment and the fluid drainage procedures are extremely hard for her right now.

The vet carefully suggested that letting her pass peacefully might be a solution.

But our New Year... She ate the bread given by the volunteer today and wagged her tail. She followed me, a stranger, and was affectionate with an elderly woman who raises stray dogs.

I cried for a long time. She’s just a young child... How did this happen...

She wants to live... She’s asking to be saved... Isn’t she our responsibility?

It seems she was abandoned because of her illness. I don’t want to let go of her again.

She’s had basic examinations and fluid drainage, and in a few hours, she will start precise ultrasound and heartworm treatment. She will need continuous treatment for the fluid accumulation.

I can’t even guess how much the future medical costs will be, including today’s expenses...

I’m asking, despite my reluctance, for help once more. Just... please help a little bit.

I want her to receive all the necessary treatments without worrying about money. Even if it’s just for one day, a month, or a year... Please help her live comfortably, eat well, and sleep warmly.
