A family favorite, this shrimp peera curry highlights the best of Kerala cuisine – fresh seafood and sweet coconut balanced with just the right amount of tanginess and spice.

Ingredients:
1 ½ lbs shrimp (680 grams)
3 cups grated coconut
5 small shallots
5 dry red chilis
8 white kanthari or small green chilis
(2) ½ inch pieces ginger
3 pieces of kudampuli (Malabar tamarind)
3-4 sprigs curry leaves
3/4 teaspoon turmeric
Salt to taste
Coconut oil to drizzle
