At the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar condemned Pakistan for its role in fostering terrorism, stating the country is making a "conscious choice" to fall behind in the global order. He asserted that Pakistan’s GDP is "measured in radicalisation" and its "exports in the form of terrorism." Jaishankar also criticised Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for comparing Kashmir's situation to Palestine, reaffirming that Pakistan's cross-border terrorism will face the consequences. He emphasised that the key issue is "the vacation of illegally occupied Indian territory by Pakistan" and urged an end to its attachment to terrorism. Jaishankar also called for UN reforms, urgent solutions to the Ukraine and Gaza conflicts, and adherence to international law to ensure global security and stability.
