So, Yella Boy, born Albert Thomas in 1975, this dude grew up in the rough streets of New Orleans. From day one, he was surrounded by the city's rich music scene, and you better believe it left its mark on him. In the early '90s, Yella Boy teamed up with two other rappers to form UNLV. Now, for those who don't know, that stands for "Uptown Ninjas Living Violent." The other members were Lil Yah, real name Yafet Jones and Reginald Manuel, aka Tec-9. These guys weren't playing around, they brought the real, raw street life to their music.
