Assam Chief Minister has justified the removal of the traditional 2-hour break for Jumma Namaz on Fridays from the state assembly, citing the need for productivity and an inclusive decision-making process. The break had been in place since 1937, but the CM explained that the Assembly Rule Committee, which includes minority members, has decided to do away with it to ensure more productive sessions.
