The World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) established the first World Mental Health Day on October 10, 1992. Today, Mental Health America (MHA) is excited to celebrate this year’s theme “to champion mental health in the workplace and build best practices that create cultures where workers have the potential to contribute productively and thrive.”

MHA’s 7th annual Mind the Workplace 2024 report (release date: Oct. 8, 2024) explores how business leaders can integrate mental health into their workplace's infrastructure and culture with healthy employer practices, from building trust to cultivating supportive people managers. The report also affirms WFMH President Tsuyoshi Akiyama's statement, “The data consistently demonstrates that prioritizing workplace mental health is good for people, companies, and communities.” Since 2015, MHA has analyzed nearly 75,000 work health surveys and published seven research reports reinforcing this point.
