On April 18, 2016, the new Patient Tower at Chinese Hospital opened. It replaced the original Chinese Hospital that opened 91 years before. The story of Chinese people in San Francisco is as old as the history of modern San Francisco. This documentary tells the story of healthcare for San Francisco’s Chinese community—how it was born out of necessity, to now, a thriving hospital and an integrated health system it created.
