What is EMDR therapy and how does it work? How does EMDR help people recover from traumatic memories and other symptoms associated with PTSD?

There are many different types of therapy for trauma recovery. Compared to other more traditional therapy methods, EMDR is relatively new. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is unique in that it focuses directly on the traumatic memories in an effort to then change the way those memories are stored in the brain.

In this video Dr. Irene Hurford explains how EMDR therapy can be a transformative tool in treating symptoms of PTSD, offering hope and healing to those on their journey to overcoming trauma.
