I found my bees bearding on the outside of their hives today. It’s 91 degrees outside. Bearding is a common occurrence during the hot summer months as the bees try to cool their hive.

If you find your bees bearding on the outside of their hives, don't panic. This is a common occurrence especially if it's hot outside or if the humidity is low. The bees are most likely trying to cool down the inside temperature of the brood nest to 92-97 degrees Fahrenheit .
