It's not often I do campsite reviews - but this place is pretty special, and it's only open for 28 days a year.....starting last week.
My friend Abi invited me to camp on this farm last week and I'm so pleased I went. We had a great time, nice and relaxed, lovely views and scored for a decent sunset as well. It was day one of the campsite being open, so apart from one other person we were the only ones there.
It's a back-to-basics site, but there are composting toilets and showers. Fires are allowed if raised off the ground using the fire pits provided - wood must be bought onsite, but only costs £5 per bag (including kindling and firestarter).
Campervans are welcome, as are motorhomes, but there is no electric.
The track up to the farm is a bit rough and ready, so take it easy. Passing places are few and far between.
Please take ALL rubbish away with you, respect the site, respect your neighbours. Enjoy the peace and surroundings of one of the nicest campsites I've stayed at.
Booking is essential, it's not open 7 days a week.
