Telugu Ganga Project is a boon for Rayalaseema Region. Initially the scope of project is only to supply drinking water to Madras ( Chennai ) in Tamilnadu.

Later on the project was redesigned to meet the need of Rayalaseema Region. So this project was executed on cost sharing basis by Tamilnadu & Andhra Pradesh( TN & AP ).
