The film "Shchedryk vs "russian world" reveals the fascinating story of how a visit to a secular concert on January 1, 1919, led Symon Petliura to entrust the conductor Oleksandr Koshyts with the creation of a choir and send it on a world tour to promote Ukrainian culture. By the coincidence of modern history, the film's plot raises several current problems – opposition to Russian cultural expansion and propaganda, issues of cultural diplomacy of Ukraine, the place of Ukrainian cultural products in the world and its struggle for itself.

Speakers of the film were researchers, cultural experts, artists: Tina Peresunko, author of the Shchedryk history study, research associate of the Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies named after M.
