Episode 1 in my Christmas Express series is this "All Aboard" train ride view seen from the tender car behind the locomotive.
This was the 4:00pm train on December 14, 2023.
My fixed camera was mounted to a railing on the tender car, facing back to the passenger cars. It was mounted near the electrical generator box, and so I couldn't use much of the audio from that camera. Instead, I mainly used audio from my hand-held secondary camera, and also used some audio from other video files of mine of the train rolling past that general location. I found a way to make it work.

This Christmas Express train event ran for 16 days during December 2023 on the Cowichan Valley Railway, and it was quickly sold out.
This popular event is a key fundraiser for the BC Forest Discovery Centre, and relies on the hard work of management, staff and volunteers, and on the generous support of sponsors.
For 2023, the Christmas Express train was pulled by the hard working No.25 "Samson" steam locomotive, which is a 1910-built 0-4-0 Vulcan. While it never worked on Vancouver Island in industry during its 113 years of life, this locomotive has been a Cowichan Valley attraction for the past 68 years, first at Gerry Wellburn's Glenora property, and then at this Forest Museum since 1964.
This 1.6 Mile narrow gauge (3 feet) railway is on the grounds of the BC Forest Discovery Centre (formerly BC Forest Museum, founded by Gerry Wellburn), located in North Cowichan, just north of Duncan on Vancouver Island.
