2020-2021 was a weird season pushed back six months due to COVID. With the Catholic Conference title on the line between these two powerhouses, this game served as the de facto D1 state championship game in Massachusetts.

No. 1 CM got out to a 23-6 lead before Xaverian came storming back. Devon Marshall intercepted Xaverian quarter Mike Berluti in the end zone with 0:02 to play to seal the victory and the conference title for the Knights.
