Hi there! My name is Genevieve Howland, aka Mama Natural, and Iām here with my 1 month old daughter Faith.
Iām so happy, Iāve got my little miracle baby here. But let me tell you, the journey to this pregnancy wasnāt exactly easy. It came after losses, discouragement, and setbacksā¦
But ultimately, here we are!
In this video Iāll share the whole story of how I got here, in the hopes that my story will give others - maybe YOU - encouragement and hope.

My belly appeared so big I was thinking TWINS. They run in my family and I am an older mom.
We went to Chicago for a midwife conference and I made an appointment with the same midwives who delivered my other kids. I needed to get a peek at my womb to see if there were two sacks in there.
So I had a super quick ultrasound where the sonographer confirmed that there was just one baby in there.
And then, to my dismay, she said something that Iāll never forget. "Iām so sorry, baby has no heartbeatā
Turns out I had something called a missed miscarriage. Itās when the body still thinks itās pregnant, even though the baby has died. That went on for 3 weeks.
I went through labor. I had contractions, back pain, it was something else. And that humbled me. Flattened me. Made me re-evaluate everything.
...
At the dawn of a new year, I completely surrendered the situation to God. I laid it down. I let it go.
God youāre gonna have to make it happen.
We were moving to a new rental right after Christmas so felt like a new beginning.
We celebrated the new year in our new home, just Michael and me and the kids. We danced, ate lobster, and toasted to a better year to come. My husband and I had some fun on new yearās day, if you know what I mean, under the awesome glow of a huge full moon.
Two weeks later, peed on a pregnancy test and got two pink lines.
I almost laughed when I saw the positive pregnancy test. Here we go again. The last time Iād bled had been with the miscarriage, so I hadnāt even had a regular cycle yet.
I wore this pregnancy loosely. I didnāt get too attached. One day at a time.
What I did know for sure was that this was the last time.
Slowly the weeks went by. First I got passed the dreaded 6 week mark, when most of my miscarriages occurred.
Then, I waited to see if my HCG numbers would double. They did, but not impressively so. God was teasing me...
Then I passed the 9 week mark, when I lost the baby in Chicagoā¦
At 14 weeks, I went to the midwife for the first time. Was I really pregnant? Was this a missed miscarriage and I didnāt even know it? The doppler would tell us the answer.

Wow, was that a joyful sound!
But still, I wore it loosely. Surrendering it to God.
Then I hit 16 weeksā¦ 20 weeks.
Time for the mid-pregnancy ultrasound.
I was nervous. Scared.
Miraculously, everything looked great.
Finally I announced the pregnancy. It felt scary, but it was time.
The rest of the pregnancy sailed on by. I did all the tests for gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, Group Strep B. All good. All strong. All healthy.
I went right up to my due date and past. Expectant and happy and also totally OVER being pregnant. But it still felt somewhat unreal.
But donāt get me wrong, it wasnāt easy. I was tired. I felt stretched more than my other two.. in more ways than one.
And it was emotionally challenging. Two years in the making, two years when many other things in my life were put on hold as I pursued this promise. I was so ready for completion. To close the chapter on our TTC-ing days.
I couldnāt truly believe it until my Faith became sight.
