This hike takes place on Saturday October 15th, 2022.

Mt. Silverheels sits at 13,822' and is considered a Centennial, being one of the 100 highest peaks in Colorado. The hike starts at Hoosier Pass outside the towns of Alma and Breckenridge, Colorado. My total distance for this hike was 9.2 miles with 4,050' feet of elevation gain.

The hike starts through thin trees for the first half mile or so. From there the ridge comes into view which has a light trail until the top. From there the standard route follows along the ridgeline to the base of Mt. Silverheels. I took a different approach and skirted the ridgeline gaining a different leg of the mountain to gain the summit.

I was the only person on the trail and summit, and enjoyed 2 beers along the hike. Breakside Wanderjack IPA, and La Cumbre Project Dank IPA Autumn Edition.
