The main objective of this expedition is the monitoring of Saharan dust. However, the region we are working in: the eastern subtropical North Atlantic off the Northwest African coast is characterised by coastal upwelling, which results in very nutrient-rich waters. Chances to see marine wildlife are therefore good and today we were visited by these happy creatures that were frolicking in the bow wave.
