I wanted to compare my 2018 Traditional ES 335 Vintage Ebony against my friends' 2020 Dot ES 335 from Nashville.

They are BOTH great guitars.

I believe 2018 was the last year at Memphis(?) and there's a lot of comments I've read comparing Memphis vs Nashville 335s. I figured why not add to the discussion.

The new Gibsons are AMAZINGLY built. No question. Love the bigger necks too. However; I DO prefer the Memphis Historic (MHS) Pickups in my 2018 vs the alnico V T types in the new 2020.

Please understand I'm a rookie at this. so the sound quality and presentation won't be tip top. Also my kids are sleeping so the amps had to be quiet ;) Sorry about the loud pedal pops I had nowhere else to put my phone to catch the flow of my Covid hair ;)

If I got some things wrong in the comparison feel free to correct me below. Be kind. My intentions for the video were to have fun. Do the same if you can please ;)

Also I'm not a jazz guy and I don't often reach for dead clean tone. Sorry it's not how I use these beauties.

I wanted to get more info out on these great guitars so please excuse the quality and my slippers. ;)

Oh and I called the cherry an epiphone by accident and said objective instead of subjective....I am human after all ;)

btw to see excellent videos look up my buddy william bennett iii

Enjoy!!
