※ This video is part of the August 14, 2015 broadcast of <Korean Travelogue - Part 5 of the Korean Peninsula: Dokdo, the Easternmost Point of the Country>. There is an island in the middle of the vast ocean. Dokdo is the youngest island of our country and also the guardian of the country. It is 92km east from Ulleungdo. Hundreds of people board boats every day to visit this small island, but not many are able to set foot on Dokdo. This is because the waves and swells are so strong that it is not easy to dock. This Dokdo trip took seven attempts before I was able to set foot on it. However, these twists and turns disappeared in an instant the moment I set foot on it. This is because I was able to encounter small but beautiful scenery. Steep cliffs and numerous natural caves. Clear waters that allow you to see 20m deep. However, what makes Dokdo even more precious and beautiful is the fact that it embraces the wide sea as much as the distance between Ulleungdo and Dokdo. So Dokdo is not a small island, but the largest island. Along with the island’s scenery, the story of the old Dokdo defense force that tried to protect Dokdo at all costs, and the story of our young people who are bravely protecting Dokdo. A bold pledge is engraved on the rock face of Dokdo. It says “Korean territory.” ✔ Program name: Korean travel - Part 5 of the Korean Peninsula Going to Dokdo, the easternmost part of the country ✔ Broadcast date: 2015.08.14
