In this video we are breaking down every technical specification from price, horsepower, seat height, to gas tank placement that you need to know about with the new 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster! Right out of the gate the Nightster has an impressive spread of features and performance due to the brand new 975T Revolution Max Engine. This sweet machine is pulling 90 Horsepower at 7500 RPM (that is a 30 Horsepower increase from the old Iron 1200), and 70 Foot Pounds of Torque at 5000 RPM. All of that power is strapped to a bike that weighs in at 481 pounds! As with other Revolution Max engines the 975T is integral to the frame of the bike and creates a great handling stiff chassis. With a 19” front wheel and a 16” rear the ride height of the bike sits at 27.5” making it a great bike for shorter riders and still comfortable for taller riders especially with the forward control add-on that Harley-Davidson is selling. For suspension the 2022 Nightster comes with dual shocks in the rear and a Showa front end that features the Dual Bending Valve Internal that help reduce front end dive in hard braking and make for an overall more even ride.

The Nightster name was used in Harley’s line up from 2007-2012 as a low slung, lightweight, 1200cc Sportster. The new 2022 Nightster takes a lot of those cues as well as a few from the venerable V-Rod. The ‘tank’ on the the new Nightster is actually the air box and fuel is put in under the seat of the rider. This helps lower the center of gravity which improves handling in all situations. The tank however is all metal and designed for easy modification so that the lines of the bike can be altered without having to consider fuel delivery. We think this is a pretty fresh addition to the Harley-Davidson Eco System.

As with all Revolution Max Engines the new 975T will have variable valve timing, hydraulic valve lash adjustment, and internal balancers. The blanchers on the 2022 Nightster will be tuned to give the bike a little more of that classic Harley feel and sound that has been lacking in the Revolution Max Engines up to this point. You can hear in the video the different notes each builder was able to pull from this new Sportster and they definitely do not disappoint.

Starting at $13,499 the 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster will be the least expensive bike in Harley’s line-up that comes with ride modes. You will be able to select between Rain, Road, and Sport Mode. There are some great rider safety features included with each mode including ABS, Traction Control, and Greg Torque Slip Control. The ABS is not linked but it is adjustable in each model, and you can turn Traction Control off in each mode as well. To round out this awesome new bike you get an analog 4” display in the cockpit similar to the one found on the Sport Bob, and a new line of Nightster accessories. Something cool we noticed about the new accessories and that a handful of them are also cleared to be used on ’21 and new Revolution Max Engines in general!

Not only does the Nightster live up to it’s name it also is moving Harley-Davidson forward with it’s awesome Revolution Max 975T engine. As soon as we get our hands on a 2022 Nightster here are Grand Teton Harley-Davidson we will get a full walk around and ride review. Let us know in the comments what your thoughts are on this new Harley-Davidson Sportster addition.
