The Piru creek trail is 2.8 miles and 185 feet of elevation gain, but you have the option of continuing for longer distance all the way to Piru Lake ( about 10 miles one way )

Someone tolled me they saw a black bear in this area so please be aware of your surroundings !!

This creek is adjacent to Pyramid Lake and from November to April they release water so there could be flash flooding at any given time, be extra mindful of that. Best time to go visit is late spring/early summer.

To park anywhere in Angeles National Forest, Cleveland National Forest, Los Padres National Forest and the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument you’ll need a Natural Forest Adventure Pass Permit $ 5 per day or $ 35 per year that you can buy at most sports stores as well as gas stations and most 7 eleven stores near the Mountains
