Decided to make this video of one inch sensor comparison between the DJI Pocket 3 and Sony RX100VII cameras while shooting the famous NYC July 4th fireworks.
I shot them both with 1.5X zoom to capture the fireworks.
The clear winner is the Sony RX100VII because it performed zoom using the actual optical zoom while the DJI Pocket 3 used digital zoom, which mean the footage was cropped in on the sensor.
I also pointed out, towards the end of this video, how the Sony RX100VII is capable of doing so much more thanks to it's copious amount of technical superiority over the DJI Pocket 3.
The RX100VII can overcome its shortcoming to the DJI Pocket 3 gimbal by having the camera mounted on a portable gimbal which can be bought cheaply. Then it will truly be a superior rival to the Pocket 3.

The DJI footage portion was shot with Freewell Anamorphic lens on the DJI Pocket 3 camera.
Setting: Manual with ASA 800, 1/100 speed, and DJI auto color science.
