What is Youtube Shorts?
YouTube are releasing a short-form video service, which TikTok users might have seen before. After India banned many Chinese apps, alongside TikTok, YouTube took this opportunity to release YouTube Shorts, (initially for Indian users.) Could this be an attempt from YouTube to replace the controversial app - TikTok? Most probably!
This will be a new video experience that lets you create short videos directly from the YouTube mobile app.

During the Global Pandemic we saw both Zoomers to Boomers in viral TikTok videos, before all the security risks were exposed, that is. And, it’s safe to say that YouTube have recognized the peoples “NEED’’ for a platform like TikTok, but in an arguably safer form.

As far as we know, a YouTube short will let you create a 15 second video, using a handful of new camera tools:

Multi-segment camera: When creating YouTube shorts, you will have access to a multi-segment camera, this means you can string multiple video clips together.

Music library: Just like Instagram stories and TikTok, you will have the option of choosing from a large library of songs to play over your video.

Speed controls: These speed controls will give you the flexibility to be creative in your performance.

A Timer and Countdown option: the ability to go handsfree when recording yourself, with the timer and countdown option.

YouTube introduces YouTube Shorts to take on the likes of all other short video platforms available in the market.

YouTube launches its own TikTok rival called YouTube Shorts in India

YouTube said the tool is for social media creators to "shoot short, catchy videos using nothing but their mobile phones."

YouTube Shorts is Google's answer to TikTok.

First, there was TikTok, then there were Reels from Instagram and now there is Shorts from Youtube.

YouTube is working on a TikTok competitor called "Shorts." TikTok showed up and changed everything. Now YouTube wants to compete directly with TikTok's short-form content app by reportedly launching YouTube's own version of TikTok called “Shorts.” YouTube Shorts will allow people to upload short-form videos into a feed inside the YouTube app, much like TikTok. TikTok has had approximately 842 million first-time downloads from both Apple and Google’s app stores over the last 12 months... With more than 2 billion monthly active users YouTube is smart to build their own version of TikTok...

YouTube is launching YouTube Shorts, a home for 15 second videos, starting in India. This is YouTube's foray into short video clips to combat the likes of TikTok, Instagram Reels and Triller. The videos will be swipeable on mobile and very easy to create on any mobile device.
