Picture this. You are driving on the highway doing your usual commute into the city to get to work when BAM, traffic! You bring your car to a crawl and groan, thinking to yourself “If they just added some more lanes to the highway, then traffic wouldn’t be an issue”. While common sense would suggest that more lanes would mean less traffic because of the increased capacity, the reality is that it doesn’t work like that, in fact, it’s actually quite the opposite. More lanes makes traffic worse thanks to a concept called “Induced Demand”. In this video, I’ll explain the fundamentals of “Induced Demand” including what it is, how it works, and the real solution to solving traffic. Let’s get into it!
