The Rottenwood Creek Trail is a popular hiking and biking trail located in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in Atlanta, Georgia. The trail is approximately 1.46 miles long one way. Since you more likely will come back the same way, the total miles will be approximately less than 3 miles total. The trail follows Rottenwood Creek from the river to Interstate 285. The trail is considered easy to moderate in difficulty and is suitable for all skill levels.
The trail offers scenic views of the Chattahoochee River and Rottenwood Creek, as well as opportunities to spot wildlife such as birds, turtles, and fish. Along the way, hikers and bikers will pass through a mix of wooded areas and open fields.
There are several access points to the Rottenwood Creek Trail, including at the Paces Mill and Akers Mill trailheads. Parking is available at both locations for a small fee. The trail is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.
It's important to note that the Rottenwood Creek Trail is part of a larger network of trails in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, and there are many other trails to explore in the area if you're looking for a longer hike or bike ride.
