Nestled cosily on the lap of eastern Himalayas, surrounded by blue rolling hills, Ziro Valley is the District Headquarter of Lower Subansiri District, Arunachal Pradesh. The landscape mainly comprises of blue pine (Pinus wallichiana) and Bamboo (Phyllostachys bambusoides) in the fringes of wide fields of wet rice cultivation which is surrounded by thick and unbroken forested mountains on all sides. A perfect treat for nature lovers and landscape photographers. Due to outstanding relationships maintained between nature and humankind, Ziro Valley has been enlisted in the Tentative list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site (WHS) as “APATANI CULTURAL LANDSCAPE” on 15/04/2014.
