By the power of the Loving Protector Sun of Dharma’s aspiration,

And remembering your infallible Vajra promise

You have returned to this world to perform your glorious noble activity of teaching and practice.

Never crushed by the negative force of obstructers, may your karmic fortune be reawakened!

May your lotus feet stay forever firm, and may you defeat the causes of the five degenerations!

May you remain as the Ornament of the World, bringing the glory of a golden age.

May the Three Jewels, Three Roots, Damchen Dorje Lekpa, Ekajati, Rahula,

Mahakala, chief of the assembly, guard you constantly.

This long life prayer for The Fifth Kathog Situ was composed in Guru Rinpoche’s sacred place of accomplishment in the land of Nepal. So that the monastic residents at Yangleshö would have something to recite, I, the renunciant, Sangye Dorje, wrote these words of aspiration.
May all beings be happy! Sarva Mangalam!

~ Late H.H Jadrel Rinpoche wrote this beautiful prayer: Zhabten for His Holiness Kathok Situ Rinpoche. ‘Sung by Singer Karma Phuntsho and image ‘clip’ Complied by Karma Chophel’.

Biography of Kathok Situ Rinpoche

The fifth Kathok Situ Rinpoche was born to Dudjom Jigdrel Yeshey Dorji’s lineage son Shenphen Dawa Rinpoche, and Her Royal Highness Ashi Pema Choden Wangchuck, who is daughter Princess (Druk Gyalsem) of the Second King of Bhutan His Majesty Jigme Wangchuck in 1978 in Darjeeling, India.

Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, Kyabje Jadral Rinpoche, and many other Buddhist masters claimed him as the true reincarnation of the 4th Kathok Situ Rinpoche. Thus, Kyabje Drupwang Pema Norbu Rinpoche, while reciting the Namchoe Minjur Dorji’s teachings to many Trulkus, Lams, Khenpos, and the general public at Phuntsholing, Bhutan, an elaborate golden enthronement ceremony was observed for Rinpoche by His Holiness Kyabje Penor Rinpoche.

Later, in the year 1994 at the sublime land of Dorji Den (Vajra-Seat), coinciding with the annual Ngagur Nyingma Moenlam Chenmo, in presence of more than ten thousands Trulkus, Khenpos and others with the representations from the Kathok Tibet monastery, Bhutan, Nepal and elsewhere saw an elaborate ceremony of the enthronement to the golden throne of the previous Situ Rinpoche.

His Holiness Kathok Situ Rinpoche is the founder of Kathok Yosel Samtenling Monastery and the Ngesang Taktenling meditation center at Beylangdra in Wanduephodrang. As prophesized by Kyabje Jigdrel Yeshi Dorji, Kathok Situ Rinpoche approached Kyabje Jadral Rinpoche and respected as his root guru. Kyabje Jadral Rinpoche also accepted him as his main heart son. Kathok Situ Rinpoche received an empowerment, transmission, and instruction on Buddha teachings as well as the treasure teachings for more than 14 years from Jadral Rinpoche as a vessel being over filled. Aspired by the biographies of the past Lamas, Rinpoche entered into strict retreat for four years at Beylangdra, the sacred site of Guru Rinpoche where he attained the ultimate stage of meditational practices.

Highly learned Kathok Situ Rinpoche is very humble, simple and down to earth, avoiding the eight worldly actions and forgoing all the worldly wealth, properties and comfort. As the saying goes contentment is the best wealth, Rinpoche is satisfied with the modest and simplest things that he has.

Today, Kathok Situ Rinpoche for the benefits of the Buddha-Dharma and sentient beings looks after the care and welfare of the Kathok Pakyong Monastery and Retreat Centre in Sikkim, India, Dorling Phuntshok Nyayab Choling Monastery in Jourbanglow, Darjeeling, India, Doo Ngagten Rabgyel Ling Monastery in Monger, Drakmarling Temple in Thimphu and Kathog Beylangdra Monastery in Wangdue, Bhutan.
