We travel the world, but we also have some amazing places right in our own backyard like the Gardens of Golden Gate Park comprised of the San Francisco Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, and the Conservatory of Flowers.

These are all within walking distance to each other with easy parking under the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences. There may also be free street parking near the botanical garden.

Pack a lunch like we did and enjoy a picnic near a fountain in the Music Concourse.

And if it's summer, pack your puffy. Mark Twain once said that the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. Karl the Fog can be brutal.
