這首歌的靈感是從生命聖詩裡面的《奇妙十架》而來的。當我唱到第三節：
「試看祂頭、祂足、祂手，慈愛憂傷和血並流，
　從前可曾愛憂交織？荊棘可曾化作冕旒？」

心中有著很大的感動，深刻地感受到主耶穌為我所承受和所擺上的，祂給我看到祂手上的釘痕、身上的傷痕、祂為我受苦時所流露出來的慈愛和憂傷，通通都祂深深愛我的憑據，是祂對我愛的記號。
而祂所受的苦，全因為對我的愛。
