I believe that we need to fight cancer and not fear it. It is curable. Timely detection and timely treatment are the only solutions to this disease. When we work for prevention, diseases will also reduce. It has always been said in our country that prevention of disease is the best cure.

It has been our experience that in case of illness, the poor were forced to sell their house or land, but the government has provided free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to the poor through schemes like Ayushman Bharat. This also includes many cancer patients. The problems of the poor are also reducing due to the availability of cheap medicines at about 9 thousand Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country.

मेरा मानना है कि कैंसर से डरने की नहीं, उससे लड़ने की ज़रूरत है। इसका इलाज संभव है। समय पर पहचान और समय पर इलाज ही इस रोग का समाधान हैं। जब हम रोकथाम के लिए काम करेंगे तो बीमारियां भी कम होंगी। हमारे यहां हमेशा से कहा जाता रहा है कि बीमारी से बचाव ही सबसे अच्छा इलाज है।

यह हमारा अनुभव रहा है कि बीमारी की स्थिति में गरीबों को अपना घर या जमीन बेचने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ता था लेकिन सरकार ने आयुष्मान भारत जैसी योजनाओं से गरीबों को 5 लाख रुपए तक के मुफ्त इलाज की सुविधा दी है। इसमें कैंसर के अनेक मरीज भी शामिल हैं। देशभर में करीब 9 हज़ार जन औषधि केंद्रों पर सस्ती दवाइयां मिलने से गरीबों की दिक्कतें भी कम हो रही हैं।
