This video shows how to re-use your exhausted laptop battery with the help of old battery of laptop. One of the common problems of laptops (notebooks) is the end of their battery life. Most of the time, we may need to use our laptops in places where there is no electricity. At such times, since the battery does not work, we have to use the laptop constantly plugged in. Cheap batteries are of poor quality, while original batteries have high prices. I have shown replacement of dead cells (Li-ion batteries) of the exhausted battery with the proper Li-ion cells (3.7 V rechargeable batteries). That's why we try to repair the laptop battery as an alternative solution. I start the repair process by opening the laptop battery case. I use freezing spray to open the battery box. After opening the laptop battery, three serial and two parallel connected lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries appear before me. By measuring the voltages of my lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, I detect the defective lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery group. I remove the defective lithium ion (Li-ion) batteries and solder new ones instead. Since I don't have a spot welder, I use the soldering method to assemble the batteries. I charge lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries with the help of the TP4056 charging module. Generally, EEPROM or special microcontrollers are used in laptop batteries. The tasks of these ICs are to record all the parameters in the battery. BQ20Z70 and BQ29330 ICs are used in this video.
