The Polonaise in e-flat minor, Op. 26 No. 2 and the Polonaise Op. 26 No. 1 were composed by Frédéric Chopin in 1836, as Frédéric Chopin was 26 years old. So, the Polonaise in C-sharp minor, Op. 26 No. 1 and the Polonaise in E-flat minor, Op. 26 No. 2, both of the Op. 26 was composed at the age of 26. These polonaises were dedicated to Josef Dessauer - an Austrian born composer who wrote many popular songs, and also some less successful operas. He was a friend of many composers of his time, such as Gioachino Rossini, Franz Schubert, Hector Berlioz, Felix Mendelssohn, Franz Liszt and Frédéric Chopin, who dedicated some pieces to him.
