Religion was the forbidden knowledge of Good and Evil. However, without it, though, knowledge would never have had increased. To the contrary of that, if knowledge was never increased, the primeval man, Adam, would have been the pre-eminent animal in the Garden just doing whatever the Lord God designed, wanted, or instructed him to do. In other words, Adam would have been in complete harmony with Nature.
