These Bald Eagle eaglets play and stretch their wings in San Simeon, CA, as they wait for mom to deliver their next meal.

Bald Eagles were restored to central California from 1986 - 2000 by Ventana Wildlife Society after their population disappeared due to egg shell thinning from DDT contamination. Thanks to this species recovery effort, today the Bald Eagle is thriving in this region!
