In this episode of General Knowledge I talk about the different measurement units that the United States of America use, which differentiate themselves from the rest of the world. Starting by mentioning how they use the 'US Letter' Paper Size as the standard, instead of the A4 - understanding why that is from a historical point of view and learning why it didn't change. Then moving on to the Fahrenheit vs Celsius difference, learning how the two scales differ and why the U.S. keep it, refusing to switch to the latter. Understanding how that refusal might be connected with their absence from the Metric System and finally learning, precisely, how the Metric System was invented, in comparison to the Imperial System which they came to use and adapt, up to today - leading them to use measuring units like Pounds, Miles, Yards, Feet, Gallons and Inches; instead of the simpler Kilograms, Kilometres, Meters, Litres or Centimetres.
