Seiko divers—primarily the SKX007 and SKX009— are the watches that converted me into a diehard Seikoholic. But as I prepare for my State of the Collection video for 2022, I couldn't help noticing that I'm very light on Seiko divers. What has changed? What are Seiko's newest divers for 2021 and 2022 like in comparison? Is the much higher asking price justified? And how do these new releases fit in with regards to the rich, illustrious heritage and achievement of their diving watches? Recently I've decided that one of my collecting goals for 2023 is to add a Seiko diver back to my collection—but which one? In this triple watch review, I take a look at three heavyweight options, including two Seiko Save the Ocean Re-Creation models (SPB299 and SPB297) along with a limited-edition Seiko Turtle (SPB183) aka The Captain Willard.
