The documentary Terra Vista, produced by Brasil de Fato in partnership with the Orfalea Center, at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCS), portrays a community settled by the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) in 1992, at the forefront of a historical process of resistance and change in the hegemonic system of cocoa production in southern Bahia, typically marked by a white oligarchy, power inequalities and degrading working conditions.

Today, 55 families settled on 904 hectares are involved in the production of cocoa and chocolate, standing out for their clean production chain, as well as their agroforestry approach and ecological preservation. From 2000 to today, the community has recovered 92% of the Rio Aliança's riparian forest and 80% of its springs.

The film features never-before-seen interviews with settlers, including some of its first members, and portrays how the agro-ecological transition process began and continues to this day. The trajectories and reflections of community members expose their operating agenda that merges social justice, food sovereignty and ecological restoration.
