I've been using several strategies to keep my garden colorful during this time of year. After my favorite blue and purple flowers have faded, I rely on late-blooming plants like Phlox and Anemone. I've also started incorporating warmer colors and deadheading my flowers to encourage more blooms. Using containers for summer bulbs and annuals has also helped, and I've come to appreciate the subtle beauty of foliage and aging blooms for a quieter, yet still striking look.
