For the first time on their 2023 World Tour, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band performed “If I Was The Priest” live at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Tuesday February 14, 2023. This song was not on the printed setlist. This was song #10 of the night.

This is the first time since 1972 that "If I Was The Priest" was performed by Bruce Springsteen. It is the first ever known performance of the song by The E Street Band. "If I Was The Priest" was officially released on the Letter To You album in 2020 but is also know for being an early Springsteen demo. It was recorded by Allan Clarke as "If I Were The Priest" in 1974.

E Street Band member, guitar and vocalist, Nils Lofgren was not in attendance for this show due to being ill with Covid-19.

This concert in Houston was my 32nd time seeing Bruce Springsteen perform. It was my 24th time seeing The E Street Band perform.
