The third Abandoned icon of New York is the Wonderbread factory. This factory opened in 1923 and It boasted Roman style arch windows and open floor layouts to maximize the natural light. The first floor held massive bread ovens and the second floor consisted of a small shop to purchase bread and hostess snacks. The factory closed in 2004 and has sat empty ever since.

There are plans for the factory, as the current owner wants to invest $20 million into renovating and turning it into an office building for startup companies. However, it was just purchased, and the owner is already undergoing several projects. So no one is certain of when this building will see new life
