Hiking in South Mountains State Park along the Jacobs Fork of the Catawba River in Western North Carolina.

South Mountains State Park protects an unique mountain landscape in the Piedmont outside Connelly Springs, NC. The small range is isolated from the main ranges of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but the Jacobs Fork cascades down the slopes like any other mountain free stone stream. South Mountains State Park is definitely worth a visit!
