Going through the back roads of Kansas has it's unique beauty. It was challenging to create a video to hold my interest, not alone yours. The hidden gems I found were small and nobody in their right mind would drive all the way out to see unless you were already there and I didn't see any reason why you would already be there.
Now the small town vibe was awesome. The festival was wholesome and had it's own charm that you can only find in a small town.
I get so tired of going to the city events and seeing the same booths over and over. Stuff bought from China, put together in a craft room advertised as home made and way over priced. It's kinda like being on vacation to a major destination and buying a souvenir that has the China sticker on the back. It's something you could have gotten off Amazon for 1/4 of the price, but since you bought it on vacation you pay 3 times what it's worth.
I digress, even though this trip did not have all the bells and whistles of a destination spot, it was really good to get out away from the crowds, relax and get back to our roots.
If you ever find yourself feeling boxed in, head to Kansas for a weekend.
