Ray struggled with his weight for most of his life. When he needed knee replacement surgery, doctors put it off because of weight-related medical issues.
Brett Cohen, MD, Chief of Bariatrics at Memorial, performed a sleeve gastrectomy to remove a portion of Ray’s stomach – a surgery that helps him eat less.
Ray has lost about 100 pounds and has become more active with his family.
