We recently drove up to the Kruger Park and spent 2 nights just outside the Park. Although we didn’t see much in the way of predators like Leopard and Cheetah, we pretty much saw everything else - Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Wild Dog and plenty of Impala, Kudu and Waterbuck. Of course, the birdlife in Kruger is always special, and even during the “winter months” you’ll see a wide range of species. If you have a limited amount of time, no more than a day or two, I recommend entering the Park at Malelane gate, and driving along the Crocodile River on the S25, towards Crocodile Bridge, and then looping back to Malelane on either the H5 or the S26 - you will likely encounter an abundance of Elephant, Impala, Kudu, Giraffe, Zebra, Waterbuck and there is a very good chance that you’ll encounter Lion, Leopard and Wild dog too.
Join us on this quick 2 day trip through the Southern Part of the Kruger National Park for a glimpse of what you can expect to see, on a limited duration self-drive safari.
