大正10年に6歳で子役として初舞台を踏み、以来初世中村吉衛門の指導を受けながら歌舞伎の第一線で活躍してきた。殆ど全ての役柄に精通しており、歌舞伎俳優研修生の先生として長年ご尽力されてきました。
