The NHS has declared sex is a biological fact. They’ve updated their guidance to say transgender women shouldn’t be put on single sex female wards, and suggested transgender people might be treated in their own room as a solution.

Will this cause a whole host of new problems for a stretched NHS? And does the new guidance put protecting single sex spaces at the heart of policy? Journalist and teacher Debbie Hayton shares her experience with Cindy Yu.
