As we celebrate 50 years of Jumps racing here at Ascot Racecourse, we look at back at some of the most memorable races from the past half a century.

The first renewal of what is now the Clarence House Chase saw a dramatic and titanic battle between the now legendary Desert Orchid and the always-popular Panto Prince.

Giving 22lb to his rival, Dessie, as he was affectionately known, put in one of the great National Hunt performances to get the better of his rival - a truly remarkable effort from by a born fighter.

Ascot Racecourse is synonymous with quality, excellence and a truly memorable day out. The highlight of the year is Royal Ascot in June with five days of tradition, pageantry and style.

Outside of Royal Ascot spectacular racing takes place throughout the year, each raceday offering a unique theme and atmosphere.
