The strangest things can spook a horse. For Smokie, who is generally a very laidback sort of fellow in that respect, it was a herd of young cattle jumping up from some undergrowth and running up to chase the cart! It gave him quite a fright (understandably so) and made him a little hesitant when he thought it might happen again (also understandable!)

So instead trying to avoid cows, we made sure to introduce Smokie to them properly (up close and rather personal!) so that cattle will never be a problem to him again. Good job too, as he's about to have some new 'neigh'bours when he 'moo'ves back home - how 'udder'ly great!
