X-Men and the Avengers were two teams that I made DC versions of. I'm now adding the Illuminati to that list of teams which honestly was the roster that was the most fun to make. The Illuminati for DC could easily be made up of popular characters to make the team stand out to audiences more or they could be made up of obscure characters to change things up and add some flavour.
