The Smith Family's Final Climb | Mountain Climbing Gone Horribly Wrong

This video tells the sad story of Tracey Smith and her teenage son's hiking trip in New Zealand that went terribly wrong. In June 2019, they went to climb to Angelus Hut in Nelson Lakes National Park. Despite warnings about bad weather, they joined a group going up the mountain. As they climbed, the weather got worse with snow and strong winds.

Tracey started to struggle and fell behind. Her son tried to help her but eventually had to leave to get help. When he finally reached the hut, it was too late to save his mother. The video explains how small mistakes, like not bringing the right equipment and ignoring warnings, led to this tragedy. It also talks about changes made to make hiking safer after this accident.
